Who is Clarissa Chistiakov? Fake GF In Brandon Wentzell Death
Brandon Wentzell of Nova Scotia Died After an Overdose. It Was Later Learned That He Had a Fake Online Girlfriend Named Clarissa Chistiakov
A sad story has emerged out of Nova Scotia. Teenager Brandon Wentzell died from what appears to be an overdose. The teenage boy had been dealing with attention deficit disorder and other issues. He had also apparently been dealing with a broken heart after a fight with an online girlfriend named Clarissa Chistiakov.
Brandon Wentzell had met Clarissa Chistiakov through the online dating site Plenty of Fish. They communicated via Facebook, text messages and phone calls, but never met in person.
It turns out that Clarissa Chistiakov didn't exist, neither did a network of family and friends that she created.
Veinotte has since found out Clarissa didn’t exist — at least not as Brandon thought. Neither did her brother Kyle, whom Brandon frequently talked with through Facebook, nor Clarissa’s ex-boyfriend Eric, who got into fights with Brandon over the social networking site.
After Wentzell's death, someone claiming to be Chistiakov's mother claimed that Clarissa had committed suicide.
Police investigated and found the claims to be false. They later arrested a woman on mischief charges.
To make thing even stranger, a user on Reddit claims that a friend also had an online relationship with a woman who claimed to be Clarissa Chistiakov.
The Brandon Wentzell story is eerily similar to the 2010 documentary Catfish.
Last year, comedian Peter Coffin got into an Twitter feud with model Xiaxue. After the Singaporean model blocked Coffin, he created a fake girlfriend named Kimi Kobayashi to insult Xiaxue.
