Why did the government lie to us about benefits of marijuana?

Wisconsin Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner stated that the frontrunner in Mexico's presidential election, "sounds like a reversion to PRI policies of old." The PRI being the dominant political party in Mexico over the last 100 years.

The fact is, this candidate, Pena Nieto, has pledge great usage of force against the drug cartels. Which up to now, hasn't worked. Mexico is awashed in violence and headless corpses are dumped in the streets of Mexico by drug cartels.

But, since Nieto stated he wanted to reduce the violence in Mexico, that angered Sensenbrenner. The question is, how can a policy goal of reducing violence be something to anger a member of the U.S. Congress?

Sensenbrenner got a negative 20 rating by NORML, or the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws, in its' most recent ranking. He has received a negative 30 ranking in the past. He is the reason our Constitution is reguarly violated by the War on Drugs. He is the reason Mexico is so violent. He is the reason millions of marijuana users have criminal records. Him.

He is not just a random member of our congress but was chairman of the powerful Judiciary Committee for 6 years. His district, unfortunately, has people with strong support for keeping up the drug war. Until that segment of the American public changes their views on this issue, the violence will continue.

Oh, in 1974, federal grant money designed to build up a case why marijuana should continue to be illegal found instead that it slowed breast, lung and a virus induced form of leukemia in mice. So, why have results that date to the time when disco was just gaining fame, not been used to treat Americans today? Well, the DEA or the Drug Enforcement Agency, repressed them. All further public cannibas was ended by the federal government through either the DEA or President Ford. So, the worse thing he did was not pardoning Nixon.

Why do we tolerate our government covering up medical advances? So, the legal drug companies can make profits on synthetic THC drugs that don't work as well as real THC? Maybe.

By the way, you can support the work of NORML to support sound public policy on this issue.

Might want to back off a bit there bub.Sounds like you're hitting it pretty hard. At least wait until you've managed to scrape something together that doesn't sound like a Cheech and Chong episode.

Wow, you might want to back off a bit of the fascism there bub. Sounds like you are reading Mein Kampf pretty hard. At least wait until you've managed to scrape something together that doesnt' sound like a Hitler speech.

That is what you sound like bub. Gee, what an idiot you are. I don't smoke marijuana, but like a lot of pro-marijuana supporters I know how stupid our laws on the issue are exactly. That you are too stupid to realize this, and you must make idiotic Cheech and CHong jokes, shows what kind of idiotic joke you are. Idiot, next time actually try to refute something I actually wrote.

Thanks for proving my point. You couldn't be any more ridiculously hysterical over nothing as you continue to find some conservative/Republican to blame for your social angst. The laws aren't stupid. They are there to protect the most vulnerable from your anything goes laissez-faire social morality. Drugs are not cool and cannabis is not some miracle panacea. As usual you have found the info you like and ran with it to suit your bias. Refuting the gibberish you puke up Ad nauseam, pun intended, can be done by anyone who still owns their brain and actually spends some energy in science based investigation. If you want to know about pot use you don't turn to NORMAL. Might as well as go straight to the drug dealer. Idiot.

According to"moderation":  "The laws aren't stupid. They are there to protect the most vulnerable from your anything goes laissez-faire social morality."  LOL, "moderation."  You're on the wrong side of history, my friend, "for the times they are a changing'."  Why does the phrase "government disinformation" come to mind?   (Great article, Jerry M.)
