Why do we allow the anti-sex police, to control our lives?

In a suburb of Cinncinnati, Ohio, the exotic/strip club Deja Vu was closed down, after a plea agreement through prosecutors that criminal charges won't be further pursued against the club owners or the dancers of the club. What a waste of money. According to the article this is what happen happened: "Dozens of misdemeanor charges had been filed against the club’s dancers and managers, alleging that dancers performed nude after midnight, were in contact with each other or with customers -- all of which would violate Ohio law."

The harm of consensual contact between dancers and patrons, or between dancers themselves, is what exactly? None. The law unfortunately in much of America is built to reflect biblical values, which are simply, anti-sex. At one time the law imprisoned gay men for consensual sex. At one time the law banned not only birth control but banned through the mail, pro-birth control material.

Our complete banning (except for most counties in Nevada) of prostitution pushes it underground where rates of sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancies are much higher among sex workers. The fact is banning something, be it sex work or drugs or during Prohibition, even beer and wine, creates a blackmarket. The blackmarket, being unregulated, is always worse than the regulation.

Simply, if someone didn't want to go to this club, than don't go there. For those on the religious right to use the power of the government to close it down because they don't like it, would be like an atheist or a gay man, using government to close down a fundamentalist church. But in that case, they wouldn't do any such thing. They respect freedom of choice, too much. Cases like this scream out for jury nullification.
