The guy has got a point, this sort of thing could never happen in a third world country like the Philippines. At a guess also many of the countries where many of the candidates have immigrated from.   Look these guys have to change their names to Smith, Brown or Howard (opps thats what the last leader of the Tory party did).

Hobbins that an Irish name? lol

A former Tory Parliamentary candidate was suspended by the party last night after complaining that people bidding to become an MP did not have ‘normal’ English names.

Councillor Peter Hobbins is accused of sending racist emails to colleagues attacking the list of prospective Parliamentary candidates for the Orpington seat in Kent.

It is the latest selection row to hit the party following the revolt of activists in Norfolk against a Conservative candidate who had an affair.

Their defiance of David Cameron’s high command led to them being nicknamed the ‘turnip Taliban’.

United Kingdom has become an asylum it gets nuttier ever day and yes we should be asking questions why are names like Bean being over looked for Abdul or Pedrostania?  The Mr Bean's human rights are not being observed the pure blooded English mongrel is being stepped on and walked over.

Mad, Mad country of mine.....

Didn't know you are English, Babel-Fish. I do see Philippines on your profile. Dual?

A born and bred British mongrel but I have adopted the Philippines. I speak the local tongue and have become very Filipino in my ways. I can claim dual nationality if I wish in a year or so time.

That's the dynamics of immigrations.  Some of those not so English names in Canada are second and third generation Canadians.  Why should they not participate?  Why should they change their name?

I was of course joking, Hobbins is a stuck up nationalistic elitist.
