Tyranny takes many forms – and the Iranian government is tyrannical, no matter which way you look at it.
But, in these last few days they lie, lie and better lie to their people – even Nero had the audacity to fiddle while Rome burned.
TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) — Iran said the gunman who killed Neda Agha-Soltan may have mistaken her for the sister of an Iranian “terrorist,” the Islamic Republic News Agency reported Wednesday.
Defending the person – whom we must assume is a man – by saying that this person was so informed that they could pick out the sister of a terrorist in that crowd, well, Hollywood can’t write those kinds of scripts.
The Iranian government is full of shit!

You make a valid point here. However, in the EU the anti terror chase in the 70s a few ended up dead by mistaken identity wish was swept under the carpet in the fight against the IRA, the RAF, the Basque or the Crosse separatist movements.

There were, I agree. I remember 'Bloody Sunday' in NI - the BBC footage was excellent. But we are no longer in the 1970s, we have passed that - the mass protests that are happening in Iran mean that you cannot shoot into a crowd and expect it to be washed away as has, is, trying to be done by the Iranian government.
Neda was murdered by her own government - and that is inexcusable. The Iranian government will try to quash this up-rising, but I have - and for the life in me I do not know why - a suspicion that some of the army will turn and that will mean one of two things. 1, civil war or 2, the move toward a real democracy.
And, adding to that, I feel the latter is what will happen.
