Why Should We Pay Taxes? The Angered Nation over Mumbai Attack says

The taxpayers of the nation are angry over Mumbai attack. The resentment is grave that the people are not ready to listen to the politicians excuses. The politicians have failed the nation on the security issue time and again. One middle class tax payer from Mumbai has suggested let us not pay taxes to government. They cannot put millions behind bar. He cited the genuine reasons for that. He said that why we pay taxes to the government for our security and the government cannot give us that. The treatment meted to the martyred soldiers’ family by these politicians is appaling.Gajendar Singh’s the Commando who laid down his life at Nariman House saving many hostage, his family was promised by the government of Uttarakhand all medical facilities on the day he was consigned to flames, but after few days as his wife was ill the doctor gave him a prescription and said she should buy medicines from market. This indifferent attitude is making the nation Angry. They have begun asking question that we pay taxes for law and order and security and if they can not provide that too why pay taxes to the government. Anmol a resident of Mussoorie said that we already pay for water electricity and there is no health benefit for the middle class, if the government cannot safeguard us why should we pay taxes.

The government has failed in law and order duties. Tanmoy from Kolkota says venting his anger that the amount tax payers are paying for the security of these politicians who have no sentiments for the common man should be stopped. Let the politicians have their private security paid from their pockets. The Uttar Pradesh alone is spending more than Rs.Six Crore to provide ‘Z’ Category security to 20 leaders is among the highest in the country. According to police sources 150 applications asking for such VIP security is under scrutiny by the state government.

The State Government spends Rs 4 lakh every month for each `Z' category beneficiary, with the total expenditure amounting to about Rs 10 crore approximately.

Under the `Z' category security, each individual is entitled for two sets of guards - one at residence and another at office - two PSOs, one armed squad comprising a head constable and three constables along with a vehicle and two police watchers.

In total 38 police personnel, who work in three shifts, a provide a person Z category security round the clock.

The beneficiary of the  Z category security politicians include SP's  Azam Khan, Amar Singh, Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav, Ramgopal Yadav, Chandrapal Singh Yadav, Satyapal Singh Baghel, Parasnath Yadav, Raghuraj Pratap Singh and Reoti Raman Singh, BJP's Lalji Tandon, Omprakash Singh, Congress' Pramod Tiwari and Ramnaresh Yadav,Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

The nation is asking is this fair?If they care for their life so dearly then why not hire a private security that will provide more employment and leave the police man for guarding the pickets and maintaining Law and Order.

The amount of policemen engaged in the security of the politicians of Mumbai could have been used at the Mumbai Attack scene and it might have saved life of many including the hostages.

The middle class population is of the view that if they cannot provide us the safety and security then why we should pay taxes to them.

Ratan Singh a college student says the problem is with these secretary level Babus who think that they are above law. They have been pampered a lot. A district Magistrate residence is like a mansion of feudal lords with dozen of govt employees working in it.

The amount of money spend on the maintenance of these residence is enormous and all paid by the tax payer.

The self styled Jagirdars have no sensitivity left any more. They care for only their comforts.

Why should the taxpayer pay for all this?
