Wikileaks, Canadian Disclosure: CSIS Director Jim Judd: Canadians Have "Alice In Wonderland" World View To Terrorism and Foreign Policy
The latest round of Wikileaks documents provides startling insight into the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), particular its Director at the time, Jim Judd.
Judd was deeply skeptical about the attitude of the Canadian public when it came to terrorism and highly fearful of the impact of terrorism related court decisions.
These latest Wikileaks documents that were released appear to be classified notes of a meeting between the United States Counselor of the Department of State Eliot Cohen and CSIS Director Jim Judd, dated July 2009 - shortly before Jim Judd stepped down as Director of CSIS.
Director Judd ascribed an "Alice in Wonderland" worldview to Canadians and their courts, whose judges have tied CSIS "in knots," making it ever more difficult to detect and prevent terror attacks in Canada and abroad. The situation, he commented, left government security agencies on the defensive and losing public support for their effort to protect Canada and its allies.
The Wikileaks documents show that CSIS director of Jim Judd also had dim view of the Canadian courts and Canadians appetite for the war of terror, citing the case of Guantanamo prisoner Omar Khadr.
Judd commented that cherry-picked sections of the court-ordered release of a DVD of Guantanamo detainee and Canadian citizen Omar Khadr (ref D) would likely show three (Canadian) adults interrogating a kid who breaks down in tears. He observed that the images would no doubt trigger "knee-jerk anti-Americanism" and "paroxysms of moral outrage, a Canadian specialty,"as well as lead to a new round of heightened pressure on the government to press for Khadr's return to Canada. He predicted that PM Harper's government would nonetheless continue to resist this pressure.
The Wikileaks Canadian documents also had this bombshell. Iranian security had requested a backdoor diplomatic channel with Canada.
Judd added that he and his colleagues are "very, very worried" about Iran.CSIS recently talked to Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) after that agency requested its own channel of communication to Canada, he said. The Iranians agreed to "help" on Afghan issues, including sharing information regarding potential attacks. However, "we have not figured out what they are up to," Judd confided, since it is clear that the "Iranians want ISAF tobleed...slowly."
The current head of CSIS is Richard Fadden, former Deputy Minister of Citizenship and Immigration.

I am from vancouver, canada and i wanted to say that Jim Judd is a good example of what CSIS is like.It is comparable to the death squads in South America.Jim Judd should be condemned for crimes against humanity. Most likely he have already caused the deaths of canadians.People like him needs to be exposed for what they are.

Stan. Kid you are right out to lunch making a statement like that. You have no grounds to say something this terrible about a fellow Canadian who spent the majority of his life guarding the well being of you and yours. Shame on you.

Stan is obviously mentally challenged. He's the type who reads a bit of the news here and there, and thinks he can throw in his two cents. He's just ignorant and possibly retarded.
