Wildfires in central Florida are causing some havoc in that section of the state.

Authorities say brush fires in central Florida forced roads to close and residents to leave their homes.

Fires blazed in Brevard and Volusia Counties -- even shutting down a strech of Interstate 95 because of the heavy smoke.

Florida Division of Forestry spokesman Timber Weller says about 500 to 600 acres burned in Voulsia County, causing an evacuation near Daytona Beach.

Brevard County Fire and Rescue spokesman Orlando Dominguez says one fire near Cocoa residents out of about 100 to 200 homes.
