In December of 2007 citizen journalist Tamara Briggman asked Sen. John McCain how he planned on helping lower-income Americans. In this video, McCain, who at the time was in New Hampshire gearing up for that state's primary election, told her "I will do anything I can to relieve the burden on lower-income Americans."  McCain outlined a plan involving tax credits, specifically mentioning that he intended to give all Americans a $5,000 tax credit to buy health insurance.

Did McCain give a substantial enough answer to Tamara's question?  Will giving Americans tax credits help relieve the burdens of lower-income Americans?
