i read this forbes article about mobile intercepts (e.g. intercepting peoples' mobile phone conversations) and it got me thinking about mobile phone security. i guess i assumed that GSM was secure until i read this and this http://wiki.thc.org/gsm/
i guess i will be more mindful about what i say sitting in public places else it will end up on YouTube or whatever new web site pops up to showcase people cell phone calls. actually that is not a bad idea - search a mobile phone number and get a list of the persons calls to listen to. scary.

the source, thanks for posting this. The first targets of this sort of hack, I predict, will be celebrities, as this is a whole new paparazzability...
(If anyone out there is recording my conversations, I politely request that, if you must post it on Youtube, you set the audio to footage of dancing sock-monkeys)

Yes I've seen video of similar technology. This would be pretty scary if the technology was all in one hand held device.
I like this story. It's good stuff.
