Woman Admits to Craigslist Scam, Posts Ad to Sell Child for $800

A woman came forward on the night of Wednesday, February 24 admitting to posting an ad to sell her child for $800 on craigslist. The Brown County Sheriff's Department confirmed that a woman admitted to posting a scam ad on Craigslist, selling her non-existent child for the price of $800.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department was informed of a Criagslist ad selling a two-year-old child for $800. While investigating, the Sherriff's Department received a call from an unnamed 23-year-old woman admitting to the ad. The unnamed woman furthermore explained to the officers that she had been drinking with friends when she posted the ad as a joke and ultimately that she was sorry for the posting.

Officers confirmed that the woman has no children and that the case has been passed along to the district attorney for a potential charge of disorderly conduct.
