Woman Brutally Executed by Taliban while Crowd Cheers: NSFW Video

Graphic video: A woman was executed in Afghanistan for "adultery" by a Taliban after two men fought over her.

An amateur video has surfaced of a burqa-clad woman sitting on the ground while a man standing a few feet away shoots her nine times while the crowd cheers him on. 


Officials in Afghanistan, where the amateur video was taken, believe the woman was executed because two Taliban commanders had a dispute over her, according to the governor of the province where the killing took place. Afghan President Hamid Karzai ordered the arrest of the Taliban who participated in the public execution.

Afghan officials believe that the woman, thought to be named Najibia, was subjected to the horrific execution because she was married to one Taliban commander while having an affair with another, Al Jazeera reports.

“Allah warns us not to get close to adultery because it's the wrong way,” another man says as the shooter approaches the woman in the video. “It is the order of Allah that she be executed.”

A bearded man is shown reading passages from the Koran that condemn adultery and ends his speech by reportedly saying, “We cannot forgive her, God tells us to finish her. Juma Khan, her husband, has the right to kill her.”

Basir Salangi, governor of Parwan province where the slaying took place, says the two men accused the woman of adultery in “order to save face,” CNN reports.

Salangi added that the two men “faked a court to decide about the fate of this woman and in one hour, they executed the woman.”

The United States condemned the public execution Sunday, calling it a “cold-blooded murder.”
