Deyan Valentinov Arrested for Murder in Tenerife Supermarket

A British woman was decapitated in a knife attack that took place at a supermarket in Arona, Tenerife. Deyan Valentinov, described by police as a Bulgarian vagrant, was tackled by security guards as he ran out of the supermarket carrying the woman's head.

There was no connection between the woman, who was in her 60s, and 28-year-old Deyan Valentinov, who after stabbing and decapitating the woman, ran out of the supermarket with her head, yelling, "God is on Earth". Police officers arrested Valentiov as he struggled with the security guards.

Eyewitness Colin Kirby, who writes for Tenerife Magazine, thought he was watching a prank unfold:

"There were people shouting. There was a Hispanic-looking guy walking behind me, looking very scruffy, muttering to himself, carrying what I thought was a joke head by the hair. The blood - it just made me think 'Clash Of The Titans'.

Kirby spoke to witnesses of the attack, who said that Deyan Valentinov ran up to the victim and just started stabbing her with no apparent motive.
