A woman killed in artillery shelling in Mohmand tribal region

A woman was killed when artillery shell fell on a house on Friday in Tehsil Safi, local sources told.

Sources told that security forces continued targeting hideouts of militants in the restive areas in Mohmand Agency with artillery from Ghallanai, regional headquarters when a strayed shell fell on the house of a tribal elder in Kakar area of tehsil Safi some 28 kilometers to the north of Ghallanai.

Resultantly wife of Amir Khan was seriously injured who was immediately shifted to Ghallanai hospital but succumbed to the wounds and died on the way.
