A judge has ruled that a woman in a 1988 sex attack can sue her attacker to claim some of his winnings from a lottery he won after his release in 2004.

A PENSIONER attacked by lottery rapist Iorworth Hoare has won the right to sue him for a share of his £7million winnings.

The former teacher, who is in her 70s, was attacked by Hoare in Leeds in 1988.

Hoare, 59, who had six previous convictions for rape and other sex offences, was jailed for life for attempting to rape the woman.

Shortly after his release on licence in May 2004, he won £7million on the National Lottery.

His victim, who was 59 at the time of the attack, sued for damages when she heard of his win.

There is a six-year time limit in which such claims must usually be launched.
