A supporter of 23 workers from India who are jailed in Fargo on illegal immigration charges say the workers will start a 24-hour fast and prayer vigil today.

Saket Soni of the Workers Center for Racial Justice says the co-called ``Cass 23'' are victims of a human trafficking scam and are not criminals.

The workers were arrested by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers October 28th at a Casselton ethanol plant under construction.

Joining the vigil and fast in the Minneapolis area are Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison and a number of clergy.

Change-of-plea hearings are scheduled for some of workers in federal court this afternoon. Others are to change their pleas next week.
