IND- Nagaon, Dec 17: To popularize the songs and the works of the
three great Indian legends Jyotiprasad Agarwalla, Bishnuprasad Rabha
and Dr Bhupen Hazarika among the children and students, Sadhana Kala
Kendra is conducting a 10 days long workshop on Jyoti-Bishnu and
Bhupendra Sangeet from 20th December to 30th December 2011 at
Chakarigaon Middle school in Nagaon, a city of north eastern Indian
state Assam. The senior artists Samar Hazarika, Rubi Sinha and Apurba
Kakati will attend the workshop to provide basic training on the music
and works of Jyotiprasad Agarwalla, Bishnuprasad Rabha and Dr Bhupen
Hazarika. Moreover, Pallab Mishra and Dipok Kahar will also attend the
workshop to provide training on painting and Sculpture.
During the press meet called by Sadhana Kala Kendra, the secretary
Santosh Kalita also informed that a State level competition will be
held on 20th & 21st January 2012 in which the workshop participants
can show their talents. A painting competition will be held on 20th &
21st January 2010 for the students who participated in the painting
workshop. Kalita added that the outstation participants will be
provided free food and accommodation.
