The Davos Open Forum focuses on Globalization and its effects.  It is sponsored by Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches. The complete background and purpose of these sessions can be found on the Davos website, www.davos.ch.

The Open Forum takes place from January 29th to 31st. at the Swiss Alpine Middle School on Guggerbachstrasse 3, in Davos Switzerland. The panel is announced at the last minute and features international experts and well knows personalities.

The sessions are held in both German and English. There are fewer than 300 seats in the school auditorium and admission is on a first come basis. It is free and audience questions are encouraged.

The Open Forum is an opportunity for people to participate in the global discussions that affect our world and every day lives. Although it is open to a small number of people, it is an attempt to draw working people into the important issues of our time.

Thursday January 29

12:30-14:00 – Global Financial Crisis: Which Lessons Should Be Learned?

19:00-20:30 – Is There a Solution for the Middle East?

Friday January 30

12:30-14:00 – Religion and Human Right A Contradiction?

19:00-20:30 Climate Justice: Basis of a New Global Solidarity?  The session on Climate Justice has been co-organized by the Global Humanitarian Forum.

Saturday January 31

12:30-14:00  Live and Let Die

15:30-17:00 – Is the right to Food an Illusion?

19:00-20:30 The EU – Model without Citizens?
