World famous electoral experts terms Pakistan’s general elections,free, fair, transparent by Pervez Musharraf

Written by www.daily.pk    Monday, 10 November 2008 18:28 The World famous electoral experts have termed February 18, 2008 General elections as free, fair and transparent, projecting Pakistan as “First world democracy”, Secretary Election  Commission, Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad told.

He stated this after his return from US, where he was invited by the United States Government to witness its general elections.

He said that electoral experts across the world were also there to observe the US general elections.

The Secretary Election Commission said that the electoral experts were of the view that the US electoral system is 200 years old strengthening their electoral system, but they had seen Pakistan’s general elections 2008 as the free, fair and the most transparent.

“It is an honour for Pakistan that the world famous electoral experts are terming February 18, General Elections as free, fair and transparent”, he remarked under Pervez Musharraf government.

Kanwar Dilshad added that after the February 18 elections, now Pakistan is identified as “First World Democracy”, like the USA.
