The World is Full of Everyday Heroes

Our society admires heroes, especially heroes that evolve from everyday people or who are underdogs. We can really relate to these people because there is a part of us that knows that if they can do something amazing, then so can we. There is nothing more exciting than watching one of these people finally find success, despite the odds.

Stories about these heroes go back to biblical times, all the way to the iconic David as he defeated the giant, Goliath. We read about these heroes in books, and we see them in movies and on television. Rarely, though, do we realize that these people exist in our everyday lives.

People such as Ed Slinin are everyday heroes. Ed grew a successful business out of nothing when he was barely past boyhood, and he continues to find success today. But he is not the only everyday hero that we pass on the street and take no notice of.

A school aged child who passes a difficult math test is a hero. After putting in all the hard work of studying and not playing video games or watching television, this child finds success and is truly heroic. The man you makes a big presentation at work and really impresses his boss is a hero. He is successful because he puts the effort into his work, and he is rewarded with success.

The common denominator between Ed Slinin, the school child, and the working man is determination. No one can be successful if they do not work at it, and this is why we find these people so admirable and heroic. We all want to work hard to be successful, but often it is difficult. We admire the people who can stick with it to achieve their goals.

The world is filled with people who are successful and heroic. They may not be David slaying Goliath, but their achievements are just as important to their own lives. We admire this success because we know how difficult it is to achieve. A lot of the time it is the everyday accomplishments that are the most difficult. This makes them the most admirable to accomplish.

These unsung heroes surround us every day. By recognizing their accomplishments we can become more satisfied by our own achievements, no matter how small they may be. In some way, everyone is a hero.
