World March of Women - Brazil
The World March of Women (WMW) is an international feminist action movement. In Brazil the organizers of the 3rd International Rally started the march in Campinas, in Sao Paulo, on March 8th, international women´s Day. The march went on up until they get to São Paulo the capital last March 18.
“We are organizing ourselves from our states and national movements. The march is time to announce and discuss our platform to seek improvements and policy changes to reverse the inequality and discrimination that still exist.” told me Izaline Tiene former mayor of Campinas. (see video with subtitles. I am tired of trying to put it here...)
The program includes radio transmission, cultural activities, debates and leaflet distribution in the cities. It's always great drumming! For 9 days we will be on march in the morning and in the evening have traning activities.
From Campinas the first night they went to Valinhos. They will also go to Vinhedo, Louveira, Jundiaí, Várzea Paulista, Cajamar, Jordanésia, Perus, Osasco and will arrive in Sao Paulo on the 18th, where there will be a great closure act.
The World March of Women Brazilian edition program speaks for itself, indeed a tough schedule:
