The scent of blood is in the water. The U.S. is on its knees and its enemies are taking bite-sized chunks out of the perception of the invincibility, stability, and confidence that has been the United States of America circa 20th Century.

In the nine years that have passed since the millennium, the 'beloved' Bush administration and, of course, 9/11, ... the U.S. has been bled to near oblivion by two simultaneous, expensively protracted, and wickedly contentious wars inside Afghanistan and Iraq.

The U.S. has lost its stature in the world thanks to 'Gitmo', the very viable perception of double-standards, torture, secret CIA renditions, and the soothing rejection of global-warming hysteria that was the Kyoto protocol.

The spike in oil - be it artificially inspired, based on political uncertainty, or merely inspired by the U.S.'s enemies - Iran, Russia, and Venezuela - started a run on commodity prices that precluded an even worse economic crisis - that of the financial unwinding of Wall Street, Main Street and every leafy and over-mortgaged corner of American suburbia!

With a newly elected President Obama who has, it seems, declared yet another war front - on the very capitalist foundations of America - Greed, Credit and Consumerism - the sunset on Global Americanism has arrived and it's bloody ugly to be sure.

And what of the evidence of our demise?

Russia's dark prince - Vlad Putin - suggests the rise of a global currency - a reserve currency to replace the almighty U.S. Dollar!
The meeting of the G20 - the top economies of the world - on April 2nd will inspire an avalanche of globalism at the expense of Obama's America.

At the very moment the potentially insolvent U.S. economy slashes and burns military expenditure ... the Petro-Dollar rich and despicably horrible Russians are throwing insane amounts of money at rearmament in proportions unseen since the pre-Glasnosted Soviet Evil Empire.

China? Our potent new slave masters! Our bankers; our fiscal conscience; the manufacturing base and holders of our proverbial wallets for oh ... the next thousand years - will soon be deciding how we spend our money!

Our very budgets will soon be decided by Beijing. Our taxation policies, our spending habits, our savings plans and bigger-Government coddling shall be managed and dictated by an evil Communist Cabal motherbase.

We are to be consumer slaves - bred as wage drones to consume and support an expansive Chinese industrial empire. We've already received the first round of 'tsssk tsssks' from Chinese President Hu! Their massive Treasury Bond holdings need to be protected from the high taxing economic crucification of Obama Socialism. All Hail Chinese Economics - coming soon to a Central Bank near you!

Our moronic and yet ridiculously scheming Venezuelan irritant - el Presidente Hugo Chavez - is the sand paper wrapped around the privates of Obama's foreign policy initiatives. Chavez consumes attention and distracts U.S. attentions from Iran, Russia and China. Chavez and his Cuban flunkies offer strategically-pricky airfields to Russian long-range tactical Russian bombers in yet another way to kick President Obama in the nuts.
Chavez is going to be very naughty indeed in April as Latin American leaders meet with President Obama - and why not!? He is hardly scared of the fur-shaven Lion that used to be American power!

The U.S. is on its knees in a potentially unending economic quagmire. It continues on the path of political naval gazing, of partisan bickering and introspective self-destruction and is bizarrely drunk on the Keynesian economics of spending insanity ... using buckets of credit it can no longer afford. Obama's America cannot afford Obama's fiscal policies neither economically nor from a perspective of once-cherished national security! Something now seemingly ignored!?

Bottom line: the 20th century closed and was labeled (much to the annoyance of the French) as the American Century. Thus far ... the 21st century has seen the rapid plunge in fortunes of the U.S. in every way. The rapid demise of THE stalwart of global power. The U.S. proudly presented to the world the qualities of economic strength, military reach and social stability cuddled gently with a proud arrogance of self-righteousness. All that has gone!

Here comes the Dark Ages Version 2.0! We're screwed!

As I see it from a greater distance. The US Empire, like the Roman in the past, has come to an end. Living beyond their means for too long, America got in the habit of getting shiploads of things from Asia by paying for with pieces of green coloured paper, only to neglecting their own factories. The thinking was; let the Asians sweat, while we do the thinking. Not much serious thinking took place over the last 20 years. Complacency at Government, Banking Institutions, Wall Street and GM at industrial level took hold. People preferred to listen to the reassuring illusions of pompous claptrap by their President Bush. Telling over and over again that the USA has the 'strongest, most dynamic economy the world had ever seen' with which they had to congratulate themselves. Looks like the same claptrap sold by the Roman Empire, 2.500 odd years ago. Chavez is a non-quantity as Putin is a barking dog. Both will be in trouble as long crude stays below $60/barrel. The US dollar as reserve currency will come to an end and be replaced by a basket of currencies at best. China most likely will be the new world’s dominant power.

Excuse me, but the thinking was absolutely not "let the Asian sweat, while we do the thinking".

Nobody in middle and working class America has ever thought that way.

What is happening is mostly, by far, due to financial elites who seek to escape the rule of law in the US. Their accomplices are the right and left political elite who enable them with the end of boosting profits or "aiding" developing nations.

Why escape the rule of law? To avoid pollution laws in the US, you go to Mexico and China. Labor cost too much in the US? Move that shipyard from Philadelphia to South Korea. Intel not making enough money? Move that chip plant from Silicon Valley to Taiwan or China.

Once we get our troops back home, institute realistic tariffs on goods coming from Asia and insist on trading parity with Europe (whose 20% VAT is a tax on our exports to them), given our tremendous resources here, we will be fine.

Chavez and Putin will not have a market for their oil and and even China will lose a lot of the market for their merchandise, which is produced in their appalling factories.

you forgot to mention the main point of why the USA is going downhill:

we have the most expensive medical field in the world.  more money is spent on our flawed medical system than all the wars put together.  more people die from prescription drugs and medical mistakes each day, than all the wars total.  and it's getting worse.  people are un-healthy by their own choice and don't even care.

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself within."

Put together, the conclusion is justified that another Empire has come to its end. Look forward what and how the next will look alike!

Moonwolf you may be pretty right, however history always has shown new Empires coming up, like Brittan once ruled the waves before the USA.

Completely in agreement with that vision. Maybe of interest to read my last article just published at http://my.nowpublic.com/world/end-empire-caused-spiral-ignorance

What is really clear is the fact that the 700 billion bank bailout and 787 billion stimulus is nothing but a scam and fraud in itself. Just what are the securites backing up those loans? Are they putting the White House property up for collateral? How about the Lincoln Memorial, or the Louisiana Purchase? It is nothing but rhetoric.....and all that money nobody knows where it is, or who is getting what... And getting what is a real question...because how can they get something from nothing? The banks failed....and the government is giving them a loan based on what? Where did 700 billion sum come from? How do they know that figure? They must have added up all the fake securites they pawned off and knew the real fall-out all along. Congress, and the Senate? Nothing but Con-Men in their own little club. The rules to be a member is be able to lie cheat and steal, and committ murder...

Goes to prove the US needs to show its humility, and acknowledge there is no such thing as a Super-power...except the God who instructed us to follow him...But the US went on its own rocky path instead...

Obama is really not the right guy to make America find its true beginning. America won't be until:

1. New Constitution....including Native American and Black American signatures

2. End of the Nuclear Weapons arsenal

3. 75% Military reduction

4. National Debt Insurance...to assure over indebtedness never happens again.

5. All home mortages become Nationalized.

6. Banks are not Nationalized

7. Past Presidents face Impeachment proceedings no matter if they are dead and gone.

8. National Health Care for all Americans, I favor Chinese Traditional Medicine method

10. Everybody use your fan to make your own electric energy for your home. Put it in your window to charge your battery packs.

11. Bring the troops home and end the occupation of Japan, Korea, Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan.

12. Love your enemy until he is your friend... and stop the Violence.

The first sentance "All the idols of capitalism over the past three decades crashed," turned me off. We haven't HAD Capitalism for the past three decades! ...or four, or five, or six. Was curious, Dominic, as to why you call yourself Rev.? Or is your real name James Petras?

It is in rememberance of Martin Luther King Jr. I support his dream....as I support Mahatma Gandhi's and other Nonviolent peoples in the world.

And where are you as a Missionary?

Rev. Jermano

I visit the homeless in Rescue Missions, currently throughout the U.S. I bring The Word, Tracts and Socks for anyone who will listen. I earn my living, by buying broken down old houses, make safe homes out of them, and resell them inexpensively, to single mom's.

Thats great I have done many such things as well, giving away land, giving away cars, and belongings for those who need.. Wish you the best..

You don't sound like a Reverend OR like MLK... "You are wrong...You got into your mess because of what you are...Don't blame someone for your mistakes." - and you still haven't answered my question, what am I? and what mistakes have I made? You can't answer, because you don't know me, and MLK never acted so smug! You have some good views, but people will not listen to or follow you when you antaganize them. There has to be a gentler way to communicate that you don't agree, than just "you are wrong." People don't like being talked down to. It's a sign of disrespect. They will think you are one of those "uppity" people who think they are better or "higher" than you. Tone down the comebacks, and they will be more apt to listen to you. OK, I'll get off my soap box. I'm an old fart, and the parent of many children, so have a tendancy to give unwanted advise. I shall leave you be.

Here let me talk up to you...you are wrong... I don't want anyone following me...they need to follow the Lord....there is a difference....and I hope to make that clear....I am no Savior.

Rev. Jermano

God Bless
