Without a Doubt, Turkey has by far the best coffee going, thick like molasses, and a one ounce cup seems like the equivalent to a pound of coffee,  I was staying in a Turkish hotel with my army buddies and after two days of getting totally wasted on their hooch, the Coffee quickly sobered us up. My memories were hung over in like 110 degree heat, couldn't sleep, we went down to the 24 hour cafe and after downing like 5 cups in an hour, my buddies and I were like the Male Equivalant of "The View", we were quite the Chatty Cathys!

The topic of which country produces the best coffee can lead to a barista boxing match.  Surely the answer depends on your own particular taste, although some countries are certainly renowned for the flavour of their beans.   Drinking too much coffee one evening, I decided to investigate a little further and see who they were. In no particular order:

They had a few Turkish Coffee houses in Sarajevo too, although the view wasn't as pleasant as it would have been in Ankara.:)

The best coffee I ever had was in Hawaii at the Volcano House on Hilo, and it was pleasure to get up in the morning and go to the dining room for coffee with a view of Mauna Loa crater. The Kona Coast is resplendent with the best coffee in the world.  I brought back gifts of bags of coffee beans for friends, and a year's supply for myself. : )

I've been all over the world trying coffee and nothing compares to the little shops in Hilo Hawaii that sell home grown coffee. Hands down my favorite.. And here in Portland, we know our coffee.. Stumptown who? one in particular i like is Kona Sharks Ho'o'Mano "Un-Kona coffee" Its a Hilo side grown bean, that is out of this world.. www.konasharkscoffee.com

Can you imagine though charging someone 50 dollars for a cup of coffee, from beans that come out of  a Kitties Bum?

Earl Grey, Earl Grey for gods sake!

TEA!

(Disclaimer I am not a tea drinker and am addicted to Tim Horton's especially on Regent St)

Think of that Barry....alcohol is a depressant,, and then you counter it with a stimulant of Turkish coffee. Talk about a roller coaster to your health. The Italians have a stiff coffee called Espresso, drunk from little cups. Have you tried Coffee with a shot of brandy? Now that is tasty....I guess they do it that way, so you don't get too high on caffeine, or too low on alcohol.
