FULL STORY

Latest reports received from the Sri Lanka Army 58 Division indicate that over 39,000 civilians held hostage by LTTE terrorists at Puthumathalan and Amplalavanpokkani areas have been liberated.

Around 11.45pm- 12 midnight, a team of Special Forces (1SF) and another team from 2 Commando led by Colonels Athula Kodippili and Ralph Nugera breached the 12km LTTE earthbund. The teams cleared a stretch of 3km from Puthumathalang towards Valaimadam. Heavy fighting erupted between the LTTE and the Special Forces. Large volumes of LTTE artillery and mortar fire from the NFZ started landing on the LTTE bund.

The Special Forces took the lead and went on an aggressive bunker-busting operation. Troops reported heavy casualties to the LTTE via communication sets. By the time the bund was cleared, 11 Special Forces soldiers including a Special Forces Captain had laid down their lives.
Soon afterward, thousands of civilians took to their heels and started running towards the now breached LTTE earth bund as Tigers started running in the opposite direction unable to face the SF and Commando squads. The Special Forces and Commandos temporarily halted their offensives and allowed the civilians to come.
3 Black Tigers hiding among the civilians blasted bombs strapped to their bodies killing 17 civilians. Total casualties to civilians in the 3 blasts was around 200.

At the same time, 2000 civilians escaping by boats towards Pulmoddai were picked up by the Navy. Another 5000 were rescued by a special team sent in by Brigadier Prasanna Silva of the 55 Division.

By 10pm today, rescued civilians, fed and rested at Puthumathalang, were arriving in steady numbers at welfare centers at Vavuniya. The Army was welcoming them with a hot meal and other refreshments while MIC searched for suicide bombers. One black tiger suicide bomber has been identified so far.
The Army was extremely happy with the 38,000+ civilians they rescued within the first day of the rescue mission and having breached the largest remaining LTTE earth bund today. Another large rescue of this nature could really put the 'cat amongst the pigeons', the cat in this scenario being the elite units of the Army.

During the entire operation, all high ranking officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force, the Defence Secretary and even President Rajapakse were awake and providing moral support to the frontline troops, led so fittingly by the 1st Brigade of the Special Forces, the oldest squadrons of the SF and 2 Commando, the spearhead of all 58 Division operations.

According to the sources, several thousands of others are waiting them to be rescued by the armed forces. All hostages held in Ampalavanpokkanai and Valayanmadam areas have been rescued, the sources added.

The mass rescue operation reached a significant phase when troops captured the 3 km long earth bund built by the LTTE, on the western border of the No Fire Zone this morning (Apr 20). With this capture troop opened a safe route for the hostages to come out of the LTTE grip which was occupied by tens of thousands civilians seeking refuge with the soldiers.

Meanwhile, defence sources on the field said that LTTE terrorists have launched a cowardly attack at the Tamil civilians leaving their grip. Defence.lk special correspondent in the area said that three LTTE suicide cadres have exploded themselves killing dozens of refugees including women and children.

"The terrorists initially fired at the civilians on the causeway using heavy machine guns. When they stepped into the lagoon to avoid LTTE machine gunfire, three LTTE cadres ran on to them and exploded themselves", he said.

More information will follow...

and... the Truth of the matter is:

On Monday's indiscriminate attack on civilian areas more than 1500 feared dead and 3500 or more injured, including hundreds of children.

  • 1500 died and more than 3500 severely injured
  • Mathalan SLA pushed back to safeguard innocent civilians
  • Used Chemical weapons
  • Used Cluster ammunitions
  • Used Phosphorous bombs
  • Bodies are scattered all over
  • Urgent Need of blood, no one is able to donate due to malnutrition
  • SLA planning to do another operation soon

The Sri Lanka Army that took hostages  of around 1000 people who left for government controlled areas on the previous night and using them as human shields moved in to safe zone in the cover of the darkness by around 2:00 AM on Monday. The shelling was intensified by then and they were firing cluster bombs, gas bombs and phosphorous bombs inside civilian areas.

Thank you for using Tamils civilians' tax money to kill and propaganda against them.

"Truth" is not complete.

No report of that special weapon that plays Sinhala folk songs and Sanskrit and Hindi chants?

The modified version now emits "Aryan " smells too.

This is all BS. The video clips you see on army.lk and defence.lk are the civilians escaping from the IDP concentration camps back to the LTTE held no fire zone.

In fact three elite LTTE suiside cadres had to intervine and blow themselves up amongest civilians, to discourage them from crowding the no fire zone.

Even those 1000 civilians the tamilnet.com reveils the Sri Lanka Army

"elite LTTE suiside cadres"

That is a new piece of information.

What "eliteness" do one need to become a "suicide" bomber? Can't even categorize them as "use and throw".

You see the oppression in action !!!

Half of my comments did not appear in the earlier post !

Here is the balance.........

Even the 1000 civilians, the tamilnet.com reveals that <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />SLA has killed, are those who flocked together to form a shield around the valiant LTTE heroes to protect them.

Do not waste time reading these stooge sites of Rajpaska Govt.

It is the Bible, Baghawath Geetha or the tamilnet.com people should read and believe.

Three bombs, that too suicide bombers, killed 1000 people?

Now who is using weapons of mass murder? SLA or LTTE ? Now don't come up with the explanation that these are captured from SLA. Remember, "Indian army" trained  only SLA to use these weapons - as per Tamilnet's previous research. How come LTTE learned to use them this fast ?

What kind of explosives are they - suicide bombers - used? Did tamilnet.com reveal that?

Huh !!

Why should SLA, IPK or anyone else take credit in teaching LTTE  mass murder ?

Our heros have excelled that on our own. A few examples are Sri Maga Bodhi, that mosque in Eravur etc.,

Vigilant LTTE correspondents can recognize these chemical wepons miles away coz they have an indepth knowledge even in production of same.

Look, if you have no other better pass-time, pls keep reading tamilnet.com. Even Ms. Pillai of UN does that!!!

  • Used Chemical weapons
  • Used Cluster ammunitions
  • Used Phosphorous bombs
  • These are all understatements to whitewash Colombo Govt.;

They (SLA) used Atomic bombs, Ballistic Missiles, Biological weapons too, against the innocent LTTE, the oppressed, suppressed, discreminated and now subjugated.

    • Urgent Need of blood, no one is able to donate due to malnutrition

This is a malicious slandering to discredit the occupants of NFZ.

According to news agencies from the now Tamilelaa'm capitol  'Valayanmadam', THE God’s boss, hero, and sole-savior  Pirabakaran Esq. is still chubby, well fed and full of blood both bodily and mentally, being far from malnutrition.

Even the deputy-god Pottu Amman can spare a few liters of blood, dispite  most of it being dried up whilest trying to persuade these unfaithful civilians to not fall pray to SLA genocide.

Come to think of it,  it's high time the diaspora start putting some real pressure on these unruly civilians to not leave the comforts of this so called NFZ

Afterall, how much of comforts have they scrificed living in UK, Canada, Norway etc., on behalf of this ungreatful brethen in NFZ??
