YankeeJim plans coverage of Stewart-Colbert events
Providing that I am not under the knife, I plan to cover both events on October 30th. I don’t need to pack an overnight bag because I live here. I do need to make sure that I am close to the lineup of thousands of porta-johns. You have to plan your trip in advance, I know from experience.
The first thing you do on arrival is get in line. The last thing that happens at a Mall event is, you’re still in line. You are always in line.
“Stewart, Colbert to host rallies on Mall
Comedy Central says that the hosts of "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" will host opposing rallies on the National Mall on Oct. 30.
"The Daily Show's" Jon Stewart plans a Rally to Restore Sanity, according to the network's Web site. On the rally's Web site, it says: "Ours is a rally for the people who've been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) -- not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority."
Below the description is a button that says "Don't Click Here," which leads you to www.keepfearalive.com, the site for Stephen Colbert's rally. His instructions to readers are the following: "Pack an overnight bag with five extra sets of underwear -- you're going to need them. Because, to Restore Truthiness we must always... Shh!!! What's that sound?! I think there's someone behind you! Run!"”

I am going to need a press pass. I will make it unless NowPublic issues them.

I wish you get the press pass.Further,I assume that this is the first rally you intend to attend with all good intentions of allaying our fears Bush & Co., have instilled.(excuse me for my ingorance if you happened to attend other rallies in the past).

Thank you for the addition. I think this will have a more enlightening effect than the Beck/Palin event.

Jim, May I suggest a helmet cam? Live streaming coverage would be unprecedented here at NP.

If I have my cochlear implant surgery before the event, a helmet cam would be appropriate as I must protect my built-in antenna, not to mention the hole in my head.
Yes, live streaming would be something. That may or may not be within my grasp. We could accomplish near real time uploading, depending upon my vantage point.
I am thinking more practical things and NowPublic audience can suggest more such as:
1. Count the number in attendance on the National Mall.
2. See if Glen Beck shows up.
3. See if any of the parents of Stewart and Colbert are in attendance.
4. Ask real Americans what they are doing here.
5. See how close you can get to the Colbert and or Stewart stages.
6. Determine to which Presidential statues the pair seem to be leaning.
7. Is Obama watching?
