The USA has removed the Yellowcake Uranium from Iraq to a buyer in Canada. It was 550 metric tons being shipped to Ontario's Canadian uranium producer, Cameco Corporation at 120.USD per pound. The yellowcake will be processed at facilities in Ontario for use in energy-producing reactors. All the Republicans are saying now "See, we told you Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destruction."

But it's a false claim..

The MSM is pushing this story trying to make the public believe that Bush wasn't lying afterall in saying Saddam had WMD and gave justification for the invasion. In fact this yellowcake they are removing due to the sale to Cameco was pre Kuwait'a 1991 gulf-war invasion; yellowcake material that was already in Iraq, supplied by France.

It had nothing to do with Joe Wilson's claim that the White House and British Intelligence faked the story that Saddam was trying to purchase Yellowcake from Niger. Valerie Plames name was leaked to the Press to show she was a CIA agent her husband, former Ambassador Joe Wilson, who wrote that he had found no evidence to support assertions that Iraq tried to buy additional yellowcake from Niger. The issue of discrediting Joe Wilson was because he was an Ambassador and his wife a CIA agent is said she recommended her husband Joe to go to Niger and check it out, since she had the inside information about that faked dossier. When Joe found out that Saddam did not make a sale from Niger, this made President Bush a liar in using that that bit of information to support the case for war. Of course the Bush people want to discredit his truth on the matter, so they leaked Wilson's wife was in the CIA who gave him the tip to check out, making it look as if he is doing this for some sort of promotion in the future, and thereby making him discreditable.

This story is very interesting I think because we all really wonder why France did not join the Coalition of the Willing in going to War in Iraq.

The reason is that France is the country who provided that Yellowcake to Saddam in Iraq. And most certainly they bought the Yellowcake came from Niger. But it was not during the time of the fake dossier Dick Cheney used in claiming Saddam was re-establishing his nuclear program.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2004/12/here_we_go_again.html

In 1975 Saddam Hussein clinched a business deal with none other than Jacques Chirac to provide a French—built reactor at the Al—Tuwaitha nuclear research site just southeast of Baghdad.  Dubbed 'Osirak' by the French, but known as Tammuz 1 by the Iraqi scientists, this reactor was never designed to generate commercial power despite assertions to the contrary.  Nor was it to provide the basic research for construction of a commercial power reactor.  The most common type of reactor to generate electrical power for public consumption is a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR).  Osirak was euphemistically dubbed a Materials Test Reactor (MTR), and was rated at 40MWth (megawatt—thermal).

All types of reactors produce plutonium as part of the atomic reaction in the core, but some types are more efficient than others.  Both Osirak and the Russian reactor down the road at Tuwaitha were not pressurized reactors, in that they simply had the fuel elements in a reactor pool.  This design is much better suited for clandestine production of plutonium. To efficiently 'breed' plutonium from a reaction of enriched uranium requires the ability to frequently rearrange the configuration of the fuel elements or to change them out completely.  To do this with a PWR it is necessary to shut down and de—pressurize the reactor; something that is easier to monitor on the ground and from overhead imagery.  Saddam's reactors did not have this requirement as they were not pressurized, and the fuel elements could be readily reconfigured or replaced quickly.

What is also interesting is that many Eurpoean Countries to include the USA were the initial contributors in giving Saddam his start in the nuclear business.

They want us to forget that Ronald Reagan is the guy who gave Saddam the World's go ahead in giving him his Weapons of Mass Destruction. http://www.fff.org/comment/com0406g.asp

Iraq used many suppliers for it future nuclear program, even according to Fox News. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,73292,00.html

So folks don't jump to conclusions about this shipment of yellowcake from Iraq to Canada. All it is, is evidence of the stuff the West sold to Iraq to thereby claim Iraq had WMD in order to invade them for their oil to assure the Dominant American Empire .

It is a classic example of how America is out there protecting the world by supplying arms to governments who will fight our enemies instead. Old Ronnie Reagan felt sure. Let's have Iraq fight Iran, instead of US military personell. We can supply them with everything they need to win the war against Iran. We'll send Donald Rumseld over to Iraq to meet Saddam and to legitimatize the deal to the world, and get companies all over the world to help Saddam get weapons to obliterate Iran. We can even shoot down an Iranian Jet liner for fun. When Saddam realized he was getting nothing but death and destruction to his people and military.

No one is sure of the total casualties during the Iran-Iraq war, but estimates range from 500,000 to 1 million dead, 1-2 million wounded, and more than 80,000 prisoners. There were approximately 2.5 million refugees, and whole cities were destroyed. The financial cost is estimated at a minimum of $200 billion.
