Yemen Protests Continue as Security Forces Attack Citizens
- President Ali Abdulla Saleh's opponents agreed to a handover deal which would give Saleh immunity from prosecution. The deal may be finalized within the week, after which Ali Abdullah Saleh would have 30 days to leave office and hand over power to a transitional government.
- 11 people were killed when Yemen security forces opened fire on demonstrations in Sanaa and Aden, in which Yemeni citizens protested the immunity deal. A soldier was also killed.
- Schools and shops across Yemen shut down in a civil disobedience campaign against Saleh.
