According to reports from the Univision Webpage, Yoanni Sanchez has been prohibited from leaving Cuba to receive the Ortega and Gassett Prize for Journalism in Spain. For those who do not know Yoanni Sanchez, I had the pleasure of visiting her webpage called Generation Y which deals with the frustrations of everyday life in Cuba for her generation. For a Government that claims to be reformist but prohibits one of their citizens from leaving is a disgrace. Yoanni Sanchez deserves to be mentioned for courageously talking about the conditions of her generation in Cuba inside Cuba [a place where even the Internet is controlled]. It is for this reason that I share this story with the public at large.
