The two new envoys were given state welcoming honors before being ushered into the presidential palace to present their credentials to President Yudhoyono.
Thai Ambassador Akrasids Amayatul succeeded his predecessor Atchara Seriptra while the Kuwaiti ambassador, Faisal Sulaiman Ali Musaileem, replaced Mohammed Fadel Khalaf.
At the credentials presenting ceremonies, the president was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda, Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi and a number of foreign ministry officials.
The palace function which began at 10 am meant that the president was not attending a plenary session of the House of Representatives (DPR) to answer questions from DPR members about the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) issue.
