Zac Sunderland completed his around the world single handed sail and set the record as the youngest solo sailor to accomplish this at age 16/17 . He arrived at Marina del Rey July 16th 2009 about 13 months from the time he left the same port. He was feted at Del Rey Yacht Club upon his arrival.
