Beware this article has what could be consider as pornographic material, two media file attachments from Youtube.com well at least in Zambia...

The news editor of Zambia's largest independent newspaper has gone on trial accused of distributing obscene images.

Chansa Kabwela sent two photographs of a woman giving birth without medical help to the country's vice-president, health minister and rights groups.

She says she was highlighting issues in the healthcare system and calling for an end to a nurses' strike.

But President Rupiah Band called the pictures pornographic and demanded a police investigation.

The president has a very strange idea that men would think that a women or women giving birth was sexually exciting?  Do some men really get a sex kick out of women giving birth?

Being a full blooded hetrosexual male I can confirm that seeing a baby being born is a wonderful magical experience but its definatly a sexual turn off. Whats your opinion?

Just one thing, did the reporter get permission from the woman to show this?

It could be seen as a horror movie!

What issues was the reporter highlighting? I think people have the right to know that.

Un-covering maybe that being uncovered may not be shameful whilst giving birth possibly the president was more worried about the nude baby? Pedophilia?.

I think the President has a serious problem with perceptions here.

It is a bit OTT isn't it?

This is ridiculous - I can't believe it.

Beaulieu does bring up a good point though - if the news editor got the woman's permission to show the pictures. I can't imagine that she didn't or that she at least knows the woman personally, and if she didn't then she should be in some kind of trouble for that.
