Zelaya's Schoolyard Bully tactics in and over Honduras

On July 5 he asks his supporters to break down the fence and take over the runway at the airport which results in the death of a 19 year old man. In my view he should be charged with inciting a riot and with this death, as his actions were a direct result. His July 24 "return attempt" again was a publicity stunt designed to make Honduras look lawless by trying to incite a riot after the world leaders said not to return, even Insulza agreed. The government of Honduras outsmarted him by not giving him what he wanted which was a full blown riot so he could stand back and say I told you so!!! His little step over the boarder on July 24 equates to the schoolyard bully saying I dare you! Does this seem like the actions of a man fit to hold presidential office, I think not, if he was 12 yrs old that might justify his actions, but I'm sure that mommy would have repremanded him. Once again I call on the world to see this man for what he is (regardless of your stance, coup or legal process) out of control, self massagenistic, high on media attention, with no regard for the safety of his own people, desperate, dangerous and bent on returning himself to power at any cost. The last time a president scared me this much was when George W. (the world's #1 terroist) Bush was in office and we all know how that turned out!!! We must stand firm and not allow the people in this world whose greed for money and power would take us further down the slippery slope that we are already on !!!

Update July 26 Zelaya once again has proven he does not care for "his" people as a direct result of his "return attempt" another life has be lost, Macdiel Pedro Martinez 24.

The military has offered to fly Zelaya's family out of the country for their safety but instead of taking them up on the offer they tried to go to the boarder, another clear case of a publicity stunt!

With each of his publicity stunts there is more blood on "Za Liar's" (no thats not a typo) hands, my count is now 18 criminal charges before he left the country and 4 out of the country, 2 counts of inciting a riot and two counts of manslaughter!

What a sad sad little man.

Zelaya is thinking only of himself, not of Honduras.

I think the court and army were right to remove him but they should have put him on trial.

Zelaya is getting desperate and has few options.

He is countin on foreign media support to get him back in office as president but that will not happ-en.

Herein lies the problem 158, if they had kept him in the country there would have been mass bloodshed as his supporter have no problem with the use of violence. This is where the interim government is in the old damned if you do and damned if you don't stituation.

Zelaya seems determined to keep stirring up trouble.

He is on the border now, making speeches.

I just hope massive bloodshed can be avoided.

I wonder how Micheletti is NOT a "schoolyard bully"? And I wonder if any of you have any idea of who this man is and what he plans on doing with Honduras? Instead of bashing the president for asking to follow the constitution (yep. See Art. 3), focus on the government Micheletti is leading. What good has he done? Why don't you write an opinion on your 'new' president.

Zelaya illegally tried to change the presidential term of office,

The highest Honduras court ordered his arrest.

I do not defend Micheletti he was appointed by con gress to a vacant office.

He has only been president one month. He has done little.

There will be elections in November and a new president will take over.

He has put out the budget that Zelaya was suppose to put out Aug. of last year! I'll tell you something he didn't do, he didn't walk away from the talks in your country and say that they had failed!!!!

As far as the Bashing goes, Arbol, I don't have to do much of that as Zelaya's actions and publicity stunts do just fine to show what the man is all about. A perfect example is him saying "will return at and cost" his words not mine and look at the price he's willing to pay. Two times he tries to reenter the country and the cost is two dead how many more is he willing to allow to die because of his grandstanding ??

This question is directly for you, Arbol, what if your president wanted to change the consitution (bad example as you have a good president, but stay with the spirit of the question) and stay in power forever????If your consitution had no clear means of impeachment, what would you want your congress and supreme court to do???? Would you be happy with a Chavez, a Castro or for that matter a Zelaya????

I wait on the edge of my seat for your response!!!!

You have to wait on the edge of your seat no more. Your example is excellent, 'cause in fact, Óscar Arias DID violate the Constitution by seeking for his re-election. That's why many of us think of him as an unconstitutional president. However, there never was a coup to depose him and we wouldn't have allowed it anyway.

When it comes to violating the Honduran Constitution, here are some facts. (I've been trying to get all of you to read this article for days! just read it, dammit).

I have already read the artical and agree with you about the congress but the big difference here is the congressmen tried to do it through proper channels and Zelaya tried to ram it through with military force and anybody who got in his way was fired! The point is mute anyway because nobody wants the treasonist SOB back. Just to show you haw littlew support he has in this country, he has to pay demonstraters to support him! See link below.
