Zimbabwe: Soldiers Clashing in Harare, Tsvangerai asks for help, Anthrax Problem
It appears that the crisis in Zimbabwe has taken another turn with unpaid soldiers attacking money chargers a second time in less than a week. Harare is the scene of clashes between the unpaid soldiers and the police that have guns and riot sticks. There have been reports by Associated Press of hundreds of people gathering and participating in the clashes.
The people have been divided between those who support the soldiers and those who support the police. At the same time, MDC Leader Morgan Tsvangerai has appealed to the world for help in ending a man made crisis as he winning a Moroccan Pro Democracy Award. In other news, the Zimbabwe Government has rejected the ruling by the Southern African Development Council that allows 78 White Zimbabweans to keep their farms.
Cholera is not the only disease affecting Zimbabwe. According to a report by SAPA-AFP, Anthrax has killed three people and threatens to wipe out livestock in northern Zimbabwe. Ms. Rachel Pounds who is the head of the Save The Children Foundation in Zimbabwe has reported that people have been eating animals who are infected by Anthrax.
