Zimbabwe Trade Union Rejects SADC & Mbeki

Wellington Chibebe [the Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions], has rejected the decision of the SADC [Southern African Development Community] to extend the term of South African President Mbeki as facilitator between ZANU-PF [Mugabe] and MDC [Opposition].

Meanwhile, the MDC is initiating plans for continual passive resistance until the results of the Presidential Elections are released. Even the Working Committee of the ANC [African National Congress, the governing party of South Africa] is worried about the delay in releasing the results of the Presidential Elections with the comments about “talks of a run off being misplaced”. Regardless, this story will continue to play itself out like a never ending tragedy. It will only get worse before it gets better.
