NP Rank:
"Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe a Modern Day Hitler"
Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe should be regarded as a modern day Hitler and a murderer without any conscience or remorse, said the Anglican Bishop of Pretoria, South Africa's administrative capital, Joe Seoka.
According to Seoka, the comparison is justifiable as Mugabe's presidency has caused too much suffering of innocent Zimbabweans, and has led to an unnecessary high number of casualties and deaths.
While he applauded the international call for Mugabe to step down, he said that this is not going to help and that action was required.
"He must be forcefully removed by all means necessary to stop further suffering of God's children and save lives in that country," Seoka said, adding that Mugabe should be arrested and tried by the International Court in the Hague.
The Bishop also lashed out at various members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for protecting their "comrade in dictatorship".
One of the country member states that refuses to take a hard stance against Zimbabwe is South Africa, which maintains the strategy of 'dialogue' and 'silent diplomacy'. SADC member Botswana on the other hand has slammed the violation of Human Rights in Zimbabwe.
Apart from the political oppression, today's human rights abuses, the abduction of various critical voices, the economic meltdown, a looming famine and a massive cholera epidemicMugabe's track record of human rights violations goes years back.
In the 1980s, shortly after independence day, Mugabe - with the help of Korea - order for the killing of thousands of people in Matabeleland. This region was the center of antagonism between Joshua Nkomo and Mugabe's Zanla guerrilla armies.
The attrocities included shooting of two young pregnant girls, followed by their being bayoneted open to reveal the still moving foetuses. On February 13, 1983,
am entire village was beaten and seven shot after digging their own graves. Witnesses refer to a fountain of blood from the pit. A day before, an entire village was abducted. Some people were forced to dig a mass grave, made to climb in and were shot. They were buried while still moving and villagers were made to dance on the grave and sing songs in praise of Zanu-PF.

Miriam: Thanks for mentioning the story. I had written earlier about the crimes of the 1980's including a 1979 video on You Tube which confirms that Mugabe planned the massacres of the 1980's in 1979.
