The fire occurred in a run-down building inhabited by immigrant workers. Of the 17 people killed, 14 were children. Most of the deaths occurred on the fifth floor, as a result of intense heat and fumes. There were no electric lines or gas mains where the fire began and police believe it was started purposefully.

My God. That sounds horrific. Did you witness it? Were they letting people report on it or was the area marked off?
