Salvation Army volunteers said they finished building the world’s tallest Red Kettle Tuesday morning at Campus Martius.The Red Kettle is 56 feet tall and 26 feet wide.It is a symbol for the Salvation Army, and the charity said it hopes to break a record in donations this year.

You
can’t make a donation at the site, but you can make donations to the
Salvation Army at any of the regular size Red Kettles located outside
local malls and stores.
