Warning these bands are so bad, you may not even want to see their name. I hope everyone that view's this list never has to suffer through any of these awful performances...

The Godfathers List(Craig M)

1. CAT POWER, SEPTEMBER, VARSITY THEATER

Overrated kitty litter. For both sold-out early and late shows this solo artist spent way too much time complaining about the Varsity's sound system (Everyone around me kept saying "What sound problem? I can hear her just fine!). Note to Chan - next time you visit the Twin Cities please leave your personal insecurities at home.

2. SEAN LENNON, DECEMBER, FIRST AVENUE
Pleasant elevator music.

3. LADYTRON, APRIL, FIRST AVENUE

Sure, they had real sound and equipment problems but that does not explain this UK band's listless, incredibly boring performance. Stay home and listen to their cool CD's.

4. SECRET MACHINES, OCTOBER, FIRST AVENUE

Wasting an opportunity to effectively utilize their round stage, this talented American band played nearly the entire show with their backs to the audience. Finally, as encore time neared they turned around to
acknowledge and play to the crowd. Way too late to save the evening. Someone please give these guys advice on how to stage a show.

5. MEW, OCTOBER, THE FINE LINE

I'm half Danish, love Scandinavian artists and bands, but this Danish band was a huge disappointment. Annoying lead singer's voice, this is strictly music for hobbits and Harry Potter fans.

The BritRocker's list(Brody a.k.a. The King)

1.Animal Collective @ First Avenue
Lets just say I hate scream-o music, and a lot of experimental music.. It was basically banging instruments and screaming all led by a guy that looked like Mankind with a construction light strapped around his head..

2. Ladytron @ First Avenue
15 minute sound delay in the middle of the set, and I've never gone to a live show where the music has been that much worse than the sound on cd..

3.Tapes and Tapes/Halloween Alaska/Dosh @ First Avenue
I like some local bands but these guys just flat out suck, it's pretty embarrassing that the biggest local band right now is this bad live.. Hopefully you'll enjoy the review on this show soon to come up(review by my best friend).

4.Cat Power @ The Varsity Theater
All she did was complain about the sound, talked to a fourteen year old girl (that was with her dad), about all her problems in the past.. Know one cares and your extremely boring live!!!! Enjoy playing music and try putting a smile on your face for the love of god..

5.Sean Lennon @ First Avenue
Sorry but your not your dad, and at least play one Beatles song in your set. Way to go! Idiot!

The Shut In's(local) were the worst band in 2005, Animal Collective was by the first in 2006, and will have to just wait in see who will be the worst in 2007. Please email me your list @ BritishRockisAlwaysTop@yahoo.com.. You can also just leave your list as a comment on my blog.
I apologize to all the regulars to this blog that are awaiting reviews from tapes and tapes, Stephanie Walbon, Vicious Vicious, and Mark Mallman. Those reviews will be up in the next couple of days.. Thanks for your patience and I hope everyone had a great holiday and is ready to jump into the new year ready to take a stand. -The King of British Rock

I've seen a couple of the bands you've listed up there and have to agree that Cat Power and Ladytron are pretty ordinary.  I saw Cat Power in Melbourne 2 years ago and she couldn't complete a song, forgot all her lyrics, spent most of the night talking to the audience and asking for the house lights to be turned up and stage lights down.  In her defence though, as I understand it - she never wanted to play live shows and is forced to by her contracts with her record company.  She is a brilliant singer, from now on it will be just enough for me to hear her on my radio or on CD...

I saw Tapes'n'Tapes at the Meredith Music Fest in Australia in December and they were amazing. Maybe you just saw an off night?
