 WHAT IS YOGAVATI

www.yogavati.com

The Sanskrit word yogavati means "One who is
absorbed in yoga". In THE TREE
OF YOGA
, Mr Iyengar says "Like camphor becoming one with the flame,
the mind gets absorbed in the flame of the soul. This is the culmination of hatha-yoga. Yoga is a science which liberates one's
mind from the bondage of the body and leads it towards the soul. When the mind reaches and merges with the
soul, the soul is freed and remains thereafter in peace and beatitude"

The approach to Hatha Yoga involves various movements and
poses. They consist of standing and
balancing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists and inversions as well as
relaxation and breathing techniques.
Practicing these movements and poses combined with conscious breathing
remove tension and stiffness from the body, restore vitality, strength and
stamina, and help to improve balance and coordination. Yoga also helps the bodily process of
digestion, assimilation, elimination and last but not least circulation,
bringing a rich supply of nutrients and oxygen to all the cells of the body

The system of hatha yoga is truly the most complete system
of self-health care that exists. Doctors
recommend it for bad backs, prenatal exercise, and stress relief. Most of today’s stress management techniques
have their roots in yoga. Dr. Dean
Ornish, M. D., Author of Dr. Dean Ornish’s Progaram for Reversing Hear
Diseas
e, recommends yoga and meditation as key components of a
program for preventing and reversing heart disease. Doctors at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los
Angeles are so certain of yoga’s health benefits that its part of their program
for people with heart attacks

If you are new to yoga, be assured that whatever your
physical condition or age and whatever cultural heritage or religious beliefs a
consistent practice of yoga’s stretching and strengthening exercise’s along
with the breathing and relaxation techniques can help you to vastly improve the
quality of your health and general well being.
The bottom line is that yoga is an exercise that is good for the body,
mind and heart. Thru yoga we learn to
open the body to oxygen, work with our alignment and exercise for health.
