Young Great White Continues to Draw Attention

The great white shark on display at the Monterey Bay Aquarium has no name. Aquarium officials frown on giving names to fish — especially those they plan to release back to the sea.

Instead, the 5-foot 8-inch, 100-pound great white is simply referred to by its scientific name — carcharodon carcharias.
