Amy Weaver, aged 16, has been nominated for a award for her volunteer work in the community.
The young teenager from Waun Wen, Cwmavon, is a pupil at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Comprehensive and has made a short-list for the Sunday Telegraph Spirit of the Community Award.
The awards seeks to honour young people aged between 10 and 18 and is the first of it's kind devoted purely to young volunteers in Britain.
