Sometimes watching strangers jump off the roof of their homes just begs to be watched on the home TV, not the computer. With Apple's new AppleTV you can do just that! Search for videos right from your couch and remote.

"This is the first time users can easily browse, find and watch YouTube videos right from their living room couch, and it's really, really fun," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "YouTube is a worldwide sensation, and Apple TV is bringing it directly from the Internet onto the widescreen TV in your living room."

Search. Watch. Repeat.

Coming in June, you can watch YouTube videos in a whole new way — on the big screen. Enjoy thousands of free videos, including the top featured, most viewed, and top rated. New content will be added every day and the entire YouTube catalog will be available by the fall, so there’ll always be something cool to see.

Interesting... one funny thing about the Apple TV is its HDMI/ component video-only connections... this could frustrate fidelity fans, as Youtube's content is, well, optimized for the web.

Exactly, I think that's why it's just not as exciting as it sounds. The YouTube videos don't usually look nice at 200% resolution on my monitor, but hell, they look grainy at 100% too! Maybe I'm just not enough of a "fanboy" on this one. (recall: old standard tube TV is 640x480 so in theory the videos would look "okay", but still not "pretty")
